Overweight and cholesterol

Fat people may or may not have high cholesterol. Both ways are metabolic disorders.
In chinese medical records, there is no concept of high cholesterol. Chinese medicine believes that overweight and high cholesterol are caused by damp-phlegm, or phlegm stagnation with Spleen Qi defficiency and blocked meridians. Chinese medicine says: FEI REN DUO TAN; meaning fat people are phlegmatic.

The Spleen is responsible for water and food transportation. If the Spleen function slows down, the water and food transportation gets affected negatively. Instead of being turned into nutrition and energy, it turns into waste.

If water stays in the lungs it will come out by coughing, called visible phlegm. If water stays under the skin it turns into fat, cellulite or lipoma, called invisible phlegm. Damp phlegm is waste water.

The principle for overweight and high cholesterol is to support or strengthen the Spleen function - get rid of damp phlegm or phlegm stagnation.
The methods to fight overweight and high cholesterol are tailor-made herbal teas, acupuncture, cupping, scraping and moxibustion.

The main herbal ingredients are Hawthorn fruit, Cassia seed, Alisma, Atractylodes and so on.
These single ingredients should be the base of a herbal prescription to maximise results.

Why is losing weight not very easy?
Normally fat starts to build around the abdominal area. There are 4 Ying meridians (Liver, Spleen, Kidneys on both sides and Ren meridian in the middle of the abdominal area) and 1 Yan meridian (abdominal meridian on both sides). Abdominal area is Yin - more channels, more acupoints, more chance for blockages.
Dampness is Ying and rather stubborn, not easy to get rid of. The Spleen likes dryness and hates dampness. 70% of our body weight is water. The Spleen has to work very hard to transport the water around the whole body and not to let it stay in one place. If the water doesn’t flow, it will turn into phlegm stagnation, or phlegm dampness which is fat, that is why people say: " I only drink water and I get fat".

Spleen has little rest because we eat three times a day. Digesting food already eaten, before a new load arrives. The Spleen Qi is consumed quickly. Some cold and hard food can easily damage the Spleen. During a weight loss period, appropriate food intake reduction is important. It will ease the job for the Spleen and the Spleen energy can recover easier and also reduce waste production. Food not digested will become waste and make people fat.

Due to the five element relation, Spleen is the son of the Heart, Spleen needs the Heart to support its function. If the Heart energy is weak, losing weight will be very difficult.

Chronic fatigue syndrome

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is far more than just being tired. It is a frustrating, complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue that may worsen with physical or mental activity and does not improve with rest. Those with CFS can get so run down that they can't function in day to day activities, with some becoming severely disabled and even bedridden. In addition to extreme fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome encompasses a wide range of other symptoms, including but not limited to headaches, flu like symptoms and chronic pain, insomnia, poor concentration or poor memory and so on.

In chinese medicine saying: CFS is related to spleen and kindney defficiency, Qi and blood defficiency, meridians are empty.
The Principle of the treatment is tonification

Chinese medicine can help relieve many symptoms of CFS. Exceptional for relieving aches and pains, improve the ability to recover more quickly, as well as improve vitality and stamina.

Women's problems

Period problems (period pain, irregular period, amenorrhea), reproduction problems (infertility, miscarriage, morning sickness), Ovarian cysts, Uterine fibroids, Endometriosis, Menopause, Breast lumps, Breast pain etc, are very common.

In chinese medicine saying: Women's problems are always related to blood. Blood deficiency or blood stagnation, Liver and Kidney.

Monthly period, giving birth, breast feeding which all cause blood deficiency, Long-term stress, emotion, and cold which all cause blood stasis.
Liver and kidney are with hormone system. In western medicine says: hormone disorder is the main cause for most of women's problem.
